Yael (she/her) joined Footsteps in May 2018 and serves as the Director of Communications and Field Building. Yael grew up in the Orthodox community herself, and her personal experiences there inspired her lifelong commitment to advocating for those who are forging self-determined paths. With an eye fixed on the power of media in shaping public perspective, and over 15 years of experience in nonprofit management, Yael is dedicated to creating lasting impact and change for formerly ultra-Orthodox people. Yael holds a bachelor’s degree from Yeshiva University and a master’s degree in Public Administration from New York University’s Robert F. Wagner School of Public Service. Yael lives in Brooklyn with her husband who she met on Twitter.
