Calling all monsters, ghouls, and creatures of the night for a spooky Halloween party at the Footsteps space on Thursday, October 31st from 6:30-9:00 pm! This witching hour, lean into your dark side and join us for a night of pumpkin painting, delicious Thai food, and creeptacular community. Costumes are optional, but highly encouraged! Everyone who comes in costume will receive a raffle ticket. You will get additional raffle tickets for each of the following criteria that your costume meets: you made it yourself, it’s your first time dressing up for Halloween, it’s a couples/group costume, it’s only made from pre-owned materials, it’s a repurposed Purim costume, you include face paint/cool make-up, and/or, at the party, you volunteer to share what your costume is with everyone!
Halloween can bring up many conflicting feelings for folks. On one hand, Halloween is a celebration of self expression that encourages us to explore the parts of ourselves we don’t often let others see. On the other, the darker or scarier elements can be uncomfortable and upsetting for many. While our celebration will center the playfulness and childlike wonder of the holiday, all Halloween feelings — whether elated, skeptical, circumspect, or otherwise — are welcome.
